Pile Rd Boylans up trail Build day
« on: February 23, 2010, 04:12:44 PM »
Date: 28th March
Where : Pile rd
Time : 9 am

A day to continue with the building of the Boylans up trail.
Asking all trailbuilders to come along and help push this trail thru to the end, and add to one of the states best trail systems. This will complete  a one way circuit of approximately 14 kms, giving the rider no fear of ever having to worry about a conflict of a head on collision.

The build day is being held in conjunction with DEC. It will start at 9 am, stopping for lunch about 1 pm.
A ride after a sausage sizzle lunch is usually the norm to test the new trail.
Finish the day with some pints at the brewery to quench your thirst and relax in good company

Post up your interest to show support and to give us an idea of numbers expected.

Cheers wal

They should make derailleur hangers in the shape of a bottle opener, everyone would carry a spare.

Plenty of time for people to get calenders in order, so no excuses ;)

We can only hope to get a bit of rain beforehand to make things a bit easier.

I'll be there. What work needs to be done?
I'm so fast that last night I turned the light switch off in my bedroom and I was in bed before the room was dark.

Walked the trail with Alan from DEC last night.
He liked what he saw, so all good :)

It has come to my attention that someone has been doing a little pre-emptive scratching on the new up trail. I applaud their vigour but the trail has taken a few detours from the line walked with DEC. I know I've missed a couple trails meetings and this may have been discussed already, but there is a reason why we do things as a group. Having attempted to ride said scratchings, it seems to be a futile effort. I know a fair bit of time was spent by our keen trail fairy, but it looks like it might have been time put to better use.

I don't want to sound ungrateful for the people that get out there and get things done, but having great trails to ride is a team effort thing.

Just put Pile Rd into googlemaps or the like, and the bottom trail head is to the left as soon as you hit the bush heading east :)

Numbers aren't looking too shithot ATM but as they say, NO REST FOR THE WICKED ;D
