2006 giant reign
« on: March 01, 2010, 11:16:54 AM »
Here's my giant reign that I've built up

2006 giant reign
2010 rockshox revelation 150 air, 20mm axle
full shimano XT groupset
Funn Full on handle bars
Thompson elite 50mm stem
Transition Revalution AM wheelset
2.35 maxxis highrollers

I still need to invest in a saddle and a seatpost, so at the moment I'm using the one from my glory

Might need a bashguard instead of that 3rd ring if you're wanting to do logovers.

Right click on the image and copy the url  from it in imageshack, rather than taking what is in the address bar.

yeah i got a bashy, but i dont think it will fit due to the derailler

when i took this photo i actually had a good look at the frame, and it deosnt actually look that outdated due to giant getting rid of their box section down tube. I prefer this model reign to the one after

Looking good Phil, the Reign looks well chuckable. Nice all mountain machine.

As long as it's not bigger than 36 tooth it should be fine. I've had bashguards with a few different cranksets and haven't had problems with the derailleur.

At Turner Hill it's only the last 100m where I even bother to get out of the granny ring. Once you get to the fastest gear on the granny ring it's usually too tight to go any faster.

Nah, not yet dmwill.  I'm guessing around 13kg, I just compared it to my glory which is 16.4kg.  Might go to my LBS to weigh it if I've got time this week.

I've had exactly the same setup. Used a raceface bashring, no probs makes a huge difference when clearing logs etc, doesn't grab like a chainring does. Do-it, you won't regret it.
