1. Why is Huck to Flat the best site on the Internet?

The basic ethos of the site is to enable the wider MTB/Trials/BMX community to have a place where we can get together and work to improve facilities for all of us, have a bit of a laugh, make new friends & organise rides.

Huck to Flat is running on open source Forum software. The particular one we are using is called SMF, it is one of the most popular free forum packages available. I have installed modules for sharing documents, chatting to others, uploading photos and videos, posting links and news items.

2. I've got something important/interesting/exciting/useful to tell everyone how do I submit an Article?

If you've got an announcement to make that's bigger than just a forum post;

Post your news in the relevant forum then click on the Make Article link, choose the relevant category and voila.

Simple.

3. I want to know what colour I should paint my STP, how do I start a Poll?

You can insert a poll in a Forum post, front page Polls can only be created by Webmasters, if you want one started send me a PM with the details.

4. I've got some files that might be useful to others, where can I put them?

The Downloads section is where you can upload files. At the moment there are folders for Ramp and Northshore Plans, Trail Maps and Proposals. You can upload into any of these. Open the folder, click on the Add File link and follow the instructions. If you want to upload something into Proposals send me a PM first in case we need to create a new folder. Try and give your files meaningful names so other users can find them easily.

5. I am a wonderfully unique individual and want everyone to know all about me, how do I do it?

Go to the "Who are you really?" post in Off Topic and fill in the questionnaire.

** Internet Safety tip: Don't put personal details on the internet, don't post up photos of yourself if you are under 18, your phone number, address, school, place of work, etc.

I will edit items to remove personal details as I feel appropriate. If you want to get stalked join Myspace.

6. Can I upload photos?

Click on the Gallery link, then follow the links to upload a photo.

7. Can I sell my stuff?

You can sell anything bike related. Post it in the relevant For Sale forum using the template. If you want to sell something a little ambiguous, (e.g. car with customised bike rack might be ok), send me a PM & we can discuss it.

8. What about videos?

YouTube videos and videos from many other media hosting sites get embedded automatically in forum posts, just paste in the link.

9. This is the best site on the Internet, how can I support it?

You can click on the Huck to Flat Merchandise link at the top of the page on the Main Menu, this will bring you to Cafepress where you can buy a selection of Huck to Flat branded items. Our t-shirts have a 100% record for protecting against alien abduction attempts.

Advertising on the site is provided free of charge to local advertisers in return for a discount for Huck to Flat members. Some banners exist for link exchange purposes, none are fee paying.

Mention the site when you visit your local bike shop and let them know we offer free advertising. They can contact us on support@hucktoflat.com for more info.

Should I stop making silly posts before the BOfH hacks into my PC & starts ordering pizzas & prostitutes to be sent around to my fiance's house at 3am every morning?
